I’m getting back into the groove of school, thankfully. And I’d forgotten just how much I enjoy doing homework. :) (I say that without any sarcasm, honest.) For example, I just finished translating the first three chapters of Cicero’s First Catilinarian Oration and reading an 80-page historical essay on the events leading up to it (the Gracchi brothers, Sulla, etc.). Fascinating stuff. As for the Latin itself, I was originally quite intimidated by it (since the last time I studied Latin was 4.5 years ago), but it’s all coming back. Continuing to review the forms won’t hurt, though.
I’m thinking of starting a web magazine, which would be published in PDF and normal HTML. Since I can’t bring myself to limit it to a single topic, I’m tentatively calling it “Random: A Little Bit of Everything” – after all, how many magazines out there are a nice eclectic potpourri of all sorts of different things? It’ll be a fun project, and I’ll probably be accepting submissions (writing, art, even design on a few of the spreads) once I get things going.
And now I’m off to brave the wonderful rainstorm, returning home to a dinner of fish sticks and pasta and a couple hours of the new Pride and Prejudice. (I’m in a British sort of mood. :)) Oh, I started reading Persuasion earlier this afternoon, and I’m loving it. Jane Austen is a kindred spirit. :)
