I've discovered that writing a story in a single sitting often isn't the best idea, because I run out of steam by the end, resorting to whatever will finish the story quickest instead of what will make it the best story it can be. The end is one of the most important parts, too important to be rushed. (Though this is also why rewriting is so important, and why I should stop publishing rough drafts on here. :P)

Perhaps the silver-shoed horse will show up in the rewrite, by the way. :) (I'll admit that I hadn't thought of that, but I like the idea.)

Good story overall, though I agree that the reveal isn't very captivating. I thought for sure that the hobo's silver-shoed horse should be involved . . . .

The prospect of an April graduation has trumped all other options, I'm afraid. I wish I could've taken it, but alas, 'tis not to be. I'll study it on my own instead, most likely.
