Moment of mild frustration

Categories: Random

One of my pet peeves (and as I write this I’m thinking to myself that I really ought to wait till I cool down, since there’s nothing I can do about it, and saying anything when I’m ticked is generally unwise) is that FedEx and UPS always deliver my packages before I get home from work, and so I always have to wait three or four extra days for them to come back. My new monitor apparently arrived 10 minutes ago, says my sister who happened to be stopping by right then, but I wasn’t home and so the guy won’t come back till Tuesday. And he’ll probably come in the early afternoon again, too. And so the cycle goes on. Argh. Don’t they realize that most people work?

Well, being frustrated isn’t going to get me anywhere, and patience is a virtue, and although I was planning to get my computer set up on Monday I guess it can wait till next week. ~sigh~

Being mad is no fun.

My rage (though it wasn’t nearly that intense, but I like using strong words, so there you go :)) was unfounded. The walk home was a struggle to keep from the regular bursts of frustration/anger. I sang hymns. I prayed. I kept talking myself out of it.

And then I got home and found a note on the door saying they’d left it with my next-door neighbor, and then I opened the door and saw the ViewSonic box on the floor at my roommate’s feet.

I was tempted to just delete this post, but oh well. I just wish I could only say that I’d have been this calm and placid and at peace with the world if my monitor hadn’t come till Tuesday.

You know, because of instances like that (I’ve had similar goes with FedEx and UPS), I have them ship stuff to where I work so I can actually get it there and not worry about it. I don’t know if that would help you out, but there might be someone somewhere that could take packages shipped that way and hold them for you. *shrugs* (For future reference…)

Hmm, that’s a good idea. I don’t know if I could pull it off just yet, but once I’m more established at the library (assuming I get a job there this fall), that wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. Of course, what I really need to do is train myself to stop buying stuff. ;)

Ha, well there IS that choice too, but where’s the fun in that? On the subject though, I finally broke down and bought a Wacom Tablet…should be swinging by work sometime next week…*drools expectantly*

Ooh, tablets are delish. Digital painting is so fun. :)
