Lindsey: I love those lyrics! Amen a hundredfold over.

Janet: All is well, all is well. Not necessarily in the way I expected, but in a way that's right and good and what I need right now.

Connor: Yeah, I feel the same way you did. :) But patience is a virtue... ~sigh~

All blessings will come in the due time of the Lord if you are willing to work for them, remain worthy of them and accept them.

Well said, Janet. As much as I disliked the "in the due time of the Lord" mantra as a single guy, it was (and is!) nevertheless true.

Ben,

I am sorry for your disappointment. Sometimes looking beyond the moment can be a sad business. Consider the memory of a special day spent with a loved one. What if your loved one died unexpectedly the next day? How would your memory be altered if you had known of their pending demise while you were spending the day with them? Perhaps you would have chosen to spend those moments differently, but your day would have been different, sad, longing, melancholy.

Perhaps the veil that covers our future is a loving gift from God just like the veil that covers our past. If I had to climb ten thousand stairs, I would prefer my view of the journey to come in ten stair increments. Having multiple finish lines in the journey of life allows us to rest, to create memories and celebrate life’s victories along the way.

I hope that you enjoy discovering Ben. I’m sure that God’s version of Ben is much grander than your version of Ben. Relish the journey and make some wonderful memories along the way. All blessings will come in the due time of the Lord if you are willing to work for them, remain worthy of them and accept them.

My favorite lyrics from Beauty and the Beast:

"Bitter sweet and strange, finding you can change, learning you were wrong..."

Your posts, vague as they were, made me think of that song.
