So you're the culprit! :P (LOL on the Acts 17:21, by the way.) Small sticky notes are a good idea -- I'll have to try that. They're cheap, too. :)

re: bookmarks

I most often use small sticky notes - you can put them wherever you left off, and they don't fall out. (I recommend choosing a dull color, as neon tends to leave floating rectangle afterimages.) When those aren't available, I use a mechanical pencil: I draw a faint line where I ended up, and the pencil then clips onto five pp. or so, making it super-easy to re-find my place, and the mark is easy enough to erase. But I definitely prefere option #1, since #2 makes book stacking difficult.

P.S. I didn't know when I gave your site a Thumbs Up back on 13 Oct 07 that I'd start a torrent of hits for your blog (not to mention attract the ire, for both you and me, of a number of folks from the Acts 17:21 crowd. I guess that's just and unfortunate reality of the 'net scene). Hope it was a good thing, overall!

Hilary: LOL :)

Emily: :) I remember reading recently about personal space and how it's more cultural than we realize -- you know, some cultures have pretty much zero personal space, but others (like ours) have this bubble. Makes me want to get rid of my bubble. It's hard, though. :)

Ooh, I hate walking through crowds! It's a kind of phobia for me. I love people, I'm not shy, but I have body claustrophobia, which is bad, because I've been singing in choirs for years. Somehow I'd get stuck behind the french horn section of the orchestra, seeing them sit on their cushy chairs with their music stands and leg room everywhere while I'm sweating between a bunch of altos on the swaying risers. ~shudder~ And airports-it almost makes me cry to walk through them! Glad I live in farm country. I need the space. :)
