Looks like I get an early peek at PBS’s Christmas present to me: Masterpiece Theatre is broadcasting all six Jane Austen novels (Emma, Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, and Sense and Sensibility) starting January 13. Mmm. :) And if that wasn’t enough, they’re also doing Jane Eyre at the end of the month.
You know, there are a lot of Jane Austen film adaptations. Ah, beloved Jane, it’s good to see that people recognize your worth. There is still some good sense left in the world. ;)
And now, as soon as I hit the post button, I’ll plop down on my bed with a brand-new copy of Emma and start reading it for the first time. (I’ve seen the movie but never read the book. But I’m repenting.)
