Please answer the question

From the American News Project comes a rather interesting video. Here’s the caption:

On June 26, 2008, John Yoo and David Addington, two leading architects of the Bush administration’s policies on torture, testified before the House Judiciary Committee. Even seemingly simple questions yielded evasive answers.

They definitely come across as evasive, particularly Yoo. Man, I wish I was writing that guy’s dialogue. :P

(Thanks to Connor for the heads-up.)

Wader-bording is the aMerican way

Perhaps they should detain Mr. Woo at Gitmo for contempt of Congress until he figures out how to answer the question. It seems that the interrogators there are better at getting answers.

This is a sad state of our nation and it makes me glad that I’m old enough that I won’t live to see the worst of the consequences of our nation’s misbehavior. I fear for the rest of you and for my grandchildren.

George: Haha. :)

Janet: Yeah, the future’s going to be interesting…

Wow. Yoo looks pretty uncomfortable. He must have had some pretty serious guidelines for how to answer (i.e. Don’t answer anything directly. It’s fine if you anger the committee, just don’t answer anything directly).

And I meant Mr. Yoo, not you. ;)

Haha, I have to admit that the first time I read it, I did think you mean “You.” Which made me feel pretty uncomfortable. :P
