And now I see

Categories: Random

I got to be half-blind today. At lunch, you see, I rubbed my eye and accidentally brushed my contact out, and when I tried to put it back in, it siamesed into two halves. I had class and couldn’t run home to get a new lens, so I got to spend an interesting two hours with relatively sharp vision in my left eye and extremely blurry vision in my right (I’m 20/850 uncorrected).

Later on I did walk home and replace the contact, of course, but let me tell you, walking around like that is trippy. The trees glitter with bokeh. It’s great.

I hate it when that happens! LOL glad you didn’t get a headache.

Gah! I hate that! I don’t know what my uncorrected vision is, exactly, but my contact prescription is -6.25 and -6.5. Like Ali, glad you didn’t get a headache.

Ali: Yeah, it wasn’t too bad. But it was only a few hours — if it had been all day, a headache would’ve been imminent.

Sherry: I think yours would be 20/625 and 20/650, but maybe I’m misguided. :) (My contact prescription is -8.5, but those ones ran out so I’m using -7.5 for now. It’s probably messing up my eyes.)

20/850?!!

Anna: Looking around, I’m finding that it doesn’t look like it’s actually a 1-1 correspondence. According to sarahlee’s answer on this Yahoo! Answers page, -9.0 is around 20/2500, so I’m probably closer to 20/1500 or 20/2000 or something…maybe? Either way, it’s bad. :) (I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m legally blind in a few years. But not legally blonde.)
