Hi, I’m Ben Crowder — writer, designer, photographer, artist, bookworm. And I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is my main blog; I have another one, Blank Slate, where I chronicle my creative endeavors. I have a few other websites which you can get to through the portal.
A short history: I started blogging back in February 2002 on Blank Slate. In March 2005 I switched to Blogger and found it a delight to use. And in February or March 2006 I bought topofthemountains.net and converted to WordPress.
Oh, the name of the blog comes from Isaiah 2:2 –
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And I didn’t know this till later, but according to the Capitol Tour page on the Utah state website:
By 1850 the government made changes in the boundaries and named the territory Utah, meaning “Top of the Mountains.”
